Math Warm-ups

Everyday at the beginning of math we have a warm up.  It consists of taking a few minutes to think mathematically and get our brains ready for the math to come.  In the following photos students are working on "today's number."  This exercise asks every student to create an equation for a number.  Today the number was 276...as you can see we have a few equations on the board in the second photo, ask your student if hers/his can be seen, or if they remember what it was!

Reflection Time

Each day we take a few moments at 3:15 or so to reflect.  We sit and think about what we did during the day, what we enjoyed, what was tough for us, and if we met our learning intentions.  Students take this time seriously, and are really thoughtful with their reflections.  The following photos are of a recent reflection time:

hi it is Katrina Cheney.I played a wonderful game at math today.I had a lot of fun.At lunch I sat next to my friends.At recces my friends and I went to the dome we hanged by are nees and some of us went to the tippy top and tried to hang by our neas.By Katrina Cheney.

Google Tours!

We have continued work on our Google Earth Tours.  In the above photos students are working on completing their tours by adding and sequencing placemarks.  Students are also working on reading their scripts aloud as we approach our time to record our tours!  We will be watching Mrs. Christy's Classes tours on Monday, and will work to have our finished during the week on the 26th!

I had  math today and  we  had  340  and  at  recess our  fort  was  gone.

Wednesday Afternoon Meeting!

Today the third grade led our Wednesday afternoon meeting!  Our class introduced the student body to one of our favorite greetings; Pass the Mask.  We had announcements from Mrs. Christy's class, they reported the outcome of our mock-election. Mrs. Dunkling also led the third graders in 2 songs in front of the school.  We are also getting VERY excited for our field trip.  We have been working on the different branches of government, as well as how a bill becomes a law.  We have been talking about how all laws begin as ideas, and will be recording our own idea for a law to take to the State House tomorrow!

Crate-seats and student entries.

We have some very exciting news!  First and foremost we have successfully had students edit our blog!  Every student who wanted to participate was able to create a blog entry on Friday, and the few students who were absent will add their thoughts on Monday!  Please check our blog frequently as students will be adding to it daily.
We also worked last week to create out crate-seats.  These are some nifty little stool-type dealies.  Mrs. Christy saw some examples of these over the summer, and we worked with students from the Barre Technical Center to get the made!  We send out many thanks to Paul Parsons and his crew from Barre Tech. as their assistance helped get this project off the ground!

We will enjoy these seats every time we come together around our rug!

game. It is were you learn a bunch of climbing skills.

yesterday we had spanish. I enjoyed making seat crates! we had a visitor named Elyse gluck. It was tough doing an end- of- unit assessment. got to  go! Jacob, out. Peace!
